Eva visited Morocco and brought back a piece of it

Some weeks prior to the trip, Eva asked me for my digital camera, that at that moment I was just getting familiar with (it was almost new) and told me if she could take it with her to Morocco. I was not sure, as the Ricoh GR III has some bad fame for being specially sensible to dust and sand, and I was not sure if it was a good idea to take it there as a first trip with it. Instead, I offered her my grandpa’s point&shoot camera, and I bought her a 200 ISO Kodak Color Plus film roll. I thought it would be a good idea to take this approach for her trip and take photos with it, as it is a simple camera where you dont have to worry much about anything: you lose some flexibility and control, but you gain simplicity and ease of use. Also you dont have to worry a lot about electronics or sensible components. This camera is robust as it can be. Also shooting film is always special, you dont have full control over the outcome, and the process is like magic. (We also did not know if the camera was fully operational, as it had not been used for like maybe more than 25 years i would say).

So she took it with her, and I am glad she did; such a great job with street photography, getting in touch with the people (sometimes, even triggering some locals that maybe were not so happy to be photographed. But hey it happens sometimes), and capturing the essence of some of the cities that they visited around Morocco.

After some weeks waiting for a moment where we could bring the film roll to the lab, we finally did it. We were both so happy to see how the photos turned out, also thanks to Voilà Film Lab for being so professionally quick. So happy that I am sharing them here, even though I did not get involved in any part of the process, but I am so proud💕.
